Plug and Product Compatibility
NOTICE: The accepted industry standard recommended by the RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association of America) requires that an injured tire be demounted, the interior inspected, the injury drilled out, and a plug and repair unit installed by a trained professional.
With aerosol tire inflators, you have to worry about it freezing in storage or in your tire. It can’t be used for Class B and C RVs, fifth wheels, or travel trailers. It can damage the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and if you have a puncture in more than one tire, you have to use one (1) can for each tire.
Because aerosol tire inflators are a liquid, it can freeze. This means if your tire has a puncture in the middle of the winter, it’s more than likely it will be frozen when you pull it out of storage. With the Stop & Go plugger kit, you don’t have to worry about the plugs freezing.
If the product is in the tire and the weather is at, or around, freezing temperature (32°F), it has to immediately be taken to repair. If the temperature drops overnight, you will not be able to drive on the road on a frozen tire!
There are different size canisters for different sized tires, but in actually it’s just more of the product in the can. There isn’t a difference in the product being used and you’re risking damaging the tire adding more and more of the liquid product.
Because aerosol tire inflators manufacturers doesn’t specify if the product works in Class B and C RVs, fifth wheels, or travel trailers, the best bet is to not try it out on the road. Stop-N-Go does work for those four types of vehicles!
If your RV, fifth wheel, or travel trailer has tire pressure system, their product can damage the system. The risk is using a product on a vehicle and tire that isn’t stated to work for.
If you have a puncture in more than one tire, you have to use a new canister for each. That’s extra cost and storage space being taken up. The standard Stop & Go kit comes with 25 pluggers, all in a convenient travel bag!
